Most professionals, at one point or another, find themselves being impacted by a reduction in force (RIF) or organizational restructure. Everyone processes life changing events such as this differently. While you progress emotionally, we’ll focus on ensuring you are ready to find your next role.

There are many resources available and that can be overwhelming. Listed below are some that I will provide. In addition to these, we will coach on how this is impacting you physically and emotionally, and discuss strategies on how to manage through whilst giving yourself the opportunity to investigate what you really want to do.

 

  • Resume: Best practices on how to write your resume with impact and purpose, using accomplishment statements. 

  • Brand: LinkedIn Profiles must “haves” and “have nots”, elevator pitches and communicating concise and provocative content to share. 

  • Skills: What competencies do you need to brush up on, and which must you learn to be competitive. 

  • Network: How to use LinkedIn and other ways to share your story and to learn about potential opportunities. 

  • Jobs: Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen applications. Ensure you know about “key words” and proper formatting enhancing your chances of being seen by a recruiter. 

  • Interview: Most companies practice Behavioral or Competency Based interviewing. Learn how to share your experience by telling stories in the STAR/SOAR format. 

  • Success: Negotiating is a skill that requires a flexible mindset as it’s not always about the salary. Once onboarding is complete, knowing what you want to accomplish in your first 90 days can expedite your impact.
